Maverick Lab is a Coaching & Training Community Interest Company created to help individuals and organisations commit to their wellbeing, emotional fitness, and resourcefulness.
Established in November 2019, the founders, Daisy Silva and Mark Whittaker have a clear vision to bring empowerment and wellbeing to all in our community.
The aim is to support both employed and economically inactive residents who have lost their confidence and self-esteem and are looking to give their future a kickstart to success.
2020 has been a tough year for most and we have seen a rise in demand for wellbeing training from all parts of our community. Our focus is not only the hardest to reach in society, but also the aspiring working couple next door with two children and their mortgage. With no financial cost to them, Maverick Lab has provided, 1:1 coaching, virtual workshops on mindfulness, meditation and trained over 90 employers to understand the impact of mental health at work.

Coaching has been delivered on a one to one basis to achieve personal and professional goals by providing training and guidance over several sessions.
13Teen Ways to Understand and Communicate
with your Teenager
Turn off the “parent alarm.” Listen without judgment and reaction. Easier said than done for most, this practical training guides parents and carers through tough conversions and gave an insight into the life of a teenager. It looked at why parents need to listen, ask why, do not assume, or make brash judgements at time we need to keep an open mind to health and wellbeing.

Resilience and Performance
Delegates learned how to incorporate resilience intervention into their own personal and professional life.
To effectively engage and motivate someone to take control of their lives, practitioners were shown how
to cultivate their own mental fitness and optimism.

We investigate resilience and the ability to bounce forward in times of uncertainties.
We explore cognitive strategies, managing anxiety and increase your positive emotions such as gratitude. Moreover, leveraging character strength and nurturing relationships.
The more emotionally intelligent individuals are the more able they will be to develop compassion, growth mind-set and empathy. Therefore, able to trigger positive behaviour change not only in them self but in those who they are supporting.
Virtual wellbeing café
The virtual Zoom Café aims to tackle isolated communities and provides residents with a safe, supportive, and welcoming place to go when other support services have been closed. We aim to support people’s wellbeing, encouraging a peer support network that will enable them to feel part of the community again.
Mental Health in the Workplace
90 employers have successfully completed our training, strategies to support their employees’ wellbeing and how to understand the impact of Mental health at work. The training was a practical guide for employers to spot the signs of mental health in the workplace and how to sensitively support employees to get help.
